Welcome back to school under Alert Level 2

Good Afternoon Parents and Caregivers,

We look forward to welcoming back all our students to school on Monday 8th March, under Alert Level 2.  As advised by the Prime Minister this afternoon we are moving down to Alert Level 2 from 6am on Sunday 7th March.

Students who are unwell must stay home and please inform the school of their absence.

Under Alert Level 2 we are committed to operating at the highest safety level that we practically can.  This includes:

  • Students are only to arrive on the school site between 8.30 – 8.50am and must go directly to their classroom.  They are not to congregate in the playground
  • Students are asked to bring their own water bottle, named
  • Any parents needing to visit the school are required to register at the office, where there is a ‘one in, one out’ system and physical distancing is required
  • Displaying QR code posters at our entrances and encouraging all of our community to download the NZ COVID Tracer App and use it if they come onsite
  • Keeping a visitor register for anyone who cannot use the app and for other visitors who come onsite for a period of time
  • Any students and staff who are sick are required to stay at home.  We will immediately organise to send home anyone who shows any symptoms of being unwell

Within the school setting we are:

  • Using physical distancing as much as practical within the classroom setting – (in class this means no touching each other and keeping out of breathing distance)
  • Using good hygiene practices and regular cleaning.  This includes coughing into elbows, handwashing and drying, use of hand sanitizer
  • Cleaning and disinfecting our high touch surfaces daily
  • Only holding remote assemblies
  • Using our online catalogue for ordering school library books
  • Not allowing any outside groups to use our school facilities

We know all these things will help to keep our community as safe as possible.

Your child is not required to wear a face covering while at school but we will of course support them should they choose to do so.

Thank you for your support this week.  We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday.
