COVID-19 Update – Monday 28 February

Kia ora koutou,

Please find below, the most recent information in regards to COVID-19.

With the current Omicron surge in cases, as with all schools, we are now seeing cases right across our school.  The school remains open as directed by the MOE.  Any move by the school to distance learning would be due to the school unable to sufficiently staff face to face learning.

Please be proactive in monitoring your children for symptoms.  Symptoms for the Omicron variant can be wide and varied.

Symptoms of COVID-19

  • A new or worsening cough
  • Sneezing and runny nose
  • A fever
  • Headache
  • Temporary loss of smell or altered sense of taste
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue

Less common symptoms include diarrhoea, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, malaise, chest pain, abdominal pain, joint pain, confusion/irritability or skin reactions.

For more information, go to

If your child develops any of these symptoms please keep them at home and get them tested.

  • If your child becomes COVID-19 positive – please inform the school straight away.
  • If your child is a Household Contact – please inform the school straight away
  • If your child develops any symptoms, please keep them at home, get them tested and inform the school straight away.

When there are positive cases within your child’s classroom, you will be notified by us so that you can monitor your child for symptoms.  Your child can continue to attend school if they have no symptoms.
